A good stay with a view

We had a spacious suite, perfect for a family, with a modern design and a lovely hinoki tub. The location was unbeatable-just a short walk from the train station and the charming old town. The cafe served fantastic coffee, and the breakfast was definitely a highlight with a tasty panini and smoothie.

Unfortunately, we experienced a communication issue regarding bedding arrangements. We booked for four but initially received only two made beds, which required some back and forth to resolve. The faint smell from the kitchen was sometimes noticeable.

I had a double room included with all the comforts, wooden bathroom, for instance. The breakfast was sensational and good with various soups, interesting offerings and dim sum, and had all you need. Excellent location and overall the staff was very amiable.

We were upgraded to suite with wooden bathroom on check in.

Eph Takayama is an excellent boutique hotel, with an excellent restaurant offering superb meals. The room I stayed in was quiet, clean, and very well-designed, with a relaxing hinoki tub. I highly recommend opting for the breakfast. The panini, salad, and mixed berry banana smoothie were really good. The hotel's proximity to the train station and old town made it an ideal location for business and leisure alike.

It was a newly remodelled hotel, nesteled in a chic building. Really helpful and highly professional staff did a great job. The breakfast food was fantastic and included coffee and cakes. The location was perfect and comfy for walking around Takayama Jin'ya. Thoroughly enjoyed that it was 5 minutes' walk from the train station. Overall my stay was very pleasant and will be back.

The cozy cafe downstairs served awesome coffee. The room was spacious and super clean with great beds! Only downside was the unattended luggage after checkout 😕

Loved the wooden bathroom! The twin room had air conditioning, a tv, and a cozy seating area. Super clean and modern with a nice view. The beds were comfy, and I appreciated the yukata. The location was perfect, just 3 min to the train station. Breakfast included a tasty panini and smoothie, real good start to the day.

The Suite with City View felt so spacious with three comfy beds and a lovely bathroom that was like a mini spa. The shower and square bath made unwinding easy after a full day of exploring. Great coffee and matcha lattes from the cafe downstairs. The location was ideal. A short stroll to both the old town and the train station made getting around easy. We did encounter an issue with our reservation concerning bedding arrangements, which took some time to resolve. The breakfast was healthy and delicious, although reserving a breakfast time in advance was a bit unusual. It affected our spontaneity for planning our mornings. The cafe's closing time could be a downside for late returns, but that didn't overshadow our overall enjoyment.

It was a perfect match for a short visit in Takayama with a good price-quality ratio. The comfortable beds made for a decent stay after a long day exploring. Be sure to check out the quiet cafe for a nice coffee before heading out.

After a long day exploring Hida-Takayama, we loved unwinding in the spacious suite's beautiful bathroom with a soak. The hotel's prime location let us easily stroll to the old town, and we enjoyed delicious coffee from the café downstairs.

In my wife's opinion, the hotel should offer larger rooms for families.
